About Me

What will you find here?

Sometimes the worlds we discover in the well worn pages of our favorite book feel so much more real, more vibrant than the one we live in every day.  Or maybe they just feel more accepting of who we are and who we want to become.  I know that stories speak to some place in my soul that says there is something more out there than the often cold, hard reality we can touch and feel.  My hope is that together you and I can delve into that place and see what we might discover.

If you stop by just to read a story or two, that is absolutely fine of course.  Stories are powerful things, and maybe one of mine will inspire you to write your own. But if you want to explore even more there are other areas here that might be of interest to you as well.  Areas which probe the bigger deeper questions and provide a gateway to some interesting discussions.

A bit about me

I love to write, and I love to read. I’m guessing we have at least one of those things in common. I tend to read fiction, particularly fantasy and sci-fi. These are my favorites because I love traveling to other realms and worlds all from the comfort of a great big chair and snuggly blanket. Maybe you can relate? My favorites are Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and R.A Salvatore. That said, I do find other fiction intriguing as well; I’m a huge fan of Dean Koontz, Frank Perretti, and Vince Flynn.

I grew up in Lubbock, TX but moved to Round Rock, TX in Jr. High where I graduated. Since then I’ve lived all over Texas, moving here and there with my family. I currently live south of Houston. I did life a bit in reverse from the norm. I married soon after high school and a little over a year later started a family. College was important to me though so I eventually went back and graduated from Liberty University in 2014 and received my Masters in Apologetics from Houston Baptist University in 2018.

Over the years I’ve worked in graphic arts, web design, and social services. Now I am a High School English Teacher, and I love of it, challenges and all. Sometimes it takes a while to reach your dreams, sometimes it takes longer to figure out what those dreams are, but I got there and so can you.

I am so thrilled you have stopped by this blog.  I hope you find as much joy in perusing it as I have in creating it.
